Visit to an abandoned hospital in Liverpool, which has been declared one of the most haunted places in the UK.

If you are brave enough, you can spend the night walking carefully through the abandoned hospital and former orphanage, looking for things that move in the night.

In one of the most haunted places in Britain, terrible ghost hunts are taking place once again, right here in Liverpool.

If you are brave enough, you can take a tour of the abandoned building.

Newsham Park Hospital, an abandoned building that was a medical hospital and psychiatric institution before it was closed in 1997, has been named one of the UK’s top 100 ghost towns for 2020.

Tons of ghost stories will come out of the listed building, and many former hospital staff claim to be able to see, hear and feel things.

The listed building has been described as “very active”, with many eerie areas to explore, including the Psyche Cinema, the “Bad Boy Corridor” and the morgue.

The historic site dates from the Victoria era and has been used as an orphanage, psychiatric hospital and nursing home throughout its 138-year history.

In an interview with ECHO, a former employee said he still had nightmares and was traumatized by the “pure evil” in the building.

Former patients of the hospital were also known to mention children and people who were not there.

The building was opened in 1874 as an orphanage for the children of British sailors, and conditions were said to be harsh: siblings were separated from each other and punishments were imposed.

Once the Haunted Happenings tour participants are beyond the fence and inside the boarded-up building, they have exclusive access to the expanding venue for an entire night to hunt down the remaining ghostly residents.

In 1951 the building was converted into a hospital, the remains of which you will see on the tour. Abandoned wheelchairs sat in empty corridors and morgue refrigerators remind us of the lost lives.

The ghost tours offer visitors the opportunity to experiment with vigils and séances, including glass divination, overturning tables and Oujia boards, and equipment for ghost hunting, including EMF meters, K2 meters and more.

The venue has been used for ghost-hunting for many years, and there have been numerous reports of paranormal activity, including distant voices and shadowy figures rushing down stairwells.

Newsham Park Hospital will be hosting several ghost hunts in the coming months, but you will have to hurry as they sell out quickly.
