Major UK supermarkets are recalling a number of products for health and safety reasons.

British supermarkets are recalling these products and people are being urged to return them immediately.

Trade standards state that product recalls are made by retailers about products that have problems that could affect consumer safety. The product should not be used and should be returned to the distributor.

Buyers are urged to return the items as soon as possible for a full refund.

These are the items that will be recalled:

Lidl GB is recalling Simply Mature White Cheddar as it may contain plastic pieces. The possible presence of plastic makes this product unsafe to consume.

If you have purchased the above product, do not eat it. Instead, take it back to the store where it was purchased and get a full refund.

Due to a packaging error, some products contain Waitrose No.1 Orange and Almond Chocolate instead.

This means that the product is a potential health risk for people with an allergy to almonds, hazelnuts (nuts) and/or soya.

Waitrose & Partners is recalling Waitrose No.1 Dominican Republic Milk Chocolate 49% because some products contain almonds, hazelnuts (nuts) and soy that are not mentioned on the label.
