A man was found covered in blood after he had been “unloaded” in front of a store after an attack.


Members of the public alerted the staff of the one-stop store in Rufford Road in the Crossens district on October 28 and looked after the man until the police arrived.

A man found “bloodied” in front of a Southport grocery store claimed that he had been dumped there after being abducted in Preston.

He claimed he was kidnapped in a van and attacked before being dumped in the Southport area.

“While in the vehicle, the man was subjected to assault and suffered facial injuries.

A spokesman said: “The man reported that he was abducted from Fish Street in Preston and taken to the intersection of Rufford Road and New Lane in Southport.

Lancashire police confirmed that they were called at 6.53pm yesterday to report that a man in his 50s with facial injuries was found in Southport.

“He was taken to hospital but has since been released. No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
