President-elect Joe Biden made President Donald Trump’s misuse of the coronavirus a focus of his campaign for the White House.
He will now inherit the crisis that worsened in January, with a new record for the highest number of cases in a single day reported on Saturday.
In a victory speech on Saturday night, Biden signaled that the fight against the virus, which has so far claimed more than 230,000 lives in the United States, will be his government’s priority.
Now an official website – backbetter.com – has been launched for Biden-Harris’ transition to president, along with a Twitter account that details a seven-point plan to combat the virus.

The American people deserve an “urgent, robust and professional” response to the public health and economic crisis, the website says.
In a further accusation against the Trump Government’s response, the website says the Biden Harris Government will always “listen to science” and “ensure that public health decisions are informed by public health professionals.
So what is the Biden Harris Administration’s seven-point plan to overcome COVID-19?
‘Regular, reliable and free’ testing
The Biden Harris management plan foresees doubling the number of drive-through test sites and expanding test capacity by investing in home and immediate testing.

They will instruct when businesses and schools are to open or close, and will impose reasonable restrictions on the size of meetings and on arranging home visits.

This includes investing 25 billion dollars to ensure that a vaccine finds its way to “every American, free of charge,” according to the transition website.
The transition website will also help Biden and Harris ensure that policy does not determine the safety or effectiveness of a vaccine.
The administration will assign scientists to make such a decision and make clinical data publicly available for any vaccine approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the plan says.
The plan adds that the Biden-Harris government will ensure that price dumping is prevented when new drugs and treatments are brought to market.
Protect older and risky Americans
Under the plan, Biden will also work to protect those most vulnerable to the coronavirus by setting up a COVID-19 task force on racial and ethnic inequalities, as proposed by Harris.
