President-elect Joe Biden made President Donald Trump’s misuse of the coronavirus a focus of his campaign for the White House.

He will now inherit the crisis that worsened in January, with a new record for the highest number of cases in a single day reported on Saturday.

In a victory speech on Saturday night, Biden signaled that the fight against the virus, which has so far claimed more than 230,000 lives in the United States, will be his government’s priority.

Now an official website – backbetter.com – has been launched for Biden-Harris’ transition to president, along with a Twitter account that details a seven-point plan to combat the virus.

The work to be done over the next 73 days will lay the foundation for an administration that puts the health, safety and character of our communities first.

The American people deserve an “urgent, robust and professional” response to the public health and economic crisis, the website says.

In a further accusation against the Trump Government’s response, the website says the Biden Harris Government will always “listen to science” and “ensure that public health decisions are informed by public health professionals.

So what is the Biden Harris Administration’s seven-point plan to overcome COVID-19?

‘Regular, reliable and free’ testing

The Biden Harris management plan foresees doubling the number of drive-through test sites and expanding test capacity by investing in home and immediate testing.

The plan also provides for the creation of a Pandemic Testing Board modelled on President Franklin D’s War Production Board. Roosevelt. “In this way we have produced tanks, aircraft, uniforms and accessories in record time, and in this way we will produce and distribute tens of millions of tests,” the website says.

Solving PPE problems ‘forever

Biden “takes responsibility and gives states, cities, tribes and territories the critical goods they need,” the website says.

He will “take full advantage” of the Defense Production Act to increase production of masks, face shields and other protective equipment so that national supply exceeds demand and inventories are fully replenished, he adds.

The plan also provides for ensuring that there is ample production capacity for such items in the U.S. in the future so that the U.S. is no longer dependent on other nations in a crisis.

Providing “clear, consistent, evidence-based” guidelines

Biden will also instruct the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to issue specific and evidence-based guidance for communities during the pandemic, the website says.

They will instruct when businesses and schools are to open or close, and will impose reasonable restrictions on the size of meetings and on arranging home visits.

Plan for distribution of treatments and vaccines

The Biden Harris government intends to plan the effective and equitable distribution of COVID-19 treatments and vaccines because “development is not enough if they are not distributed effectively.

This includes investing 25 billion dollars to ensure that a vaccine finds its way to “every American, free of charge,” according to the transition website.

The transition website will also help Biden and Harris ensure that policy does not determine the safety or effectiveness of a vaccine.

The administration will assign scientists to make such a decision and make clinical data publicly available for any vaccine approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the plan says.

The plan adds that the Biden-Harris government will ensure that price dumping is prevented when new drugs and treatments are brought to market.

Protect older and risky Americans

Under the plan, Biden will also work to protect those most vulnerable to the coronavirus by setting up a COVID-19 task force on racial and ethnic inequalities, as proposed by Harris.

The Task Force will make recommendations and oversee inequalities in the public health and economic crisis
