Specs, Price, and Where to Buy the Tesla Model S Plaid
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, announced the new Model S Plaid automobile at a ceremony on Thursday night, saying that 25 of the new cars would be delivered on Friday evening.
The Model S Plaid was initially revealed in January of this year. The number of delivery is expected to increase to several hundred each week in the next quarter, and to a thousand per week in the following quarter.
According to TechCrunch, Musk stated at the event at the Tesla factory in Fremont, California, “It’s been almost a decade since we delivered the first model S, the first car made here in Fremont, so almost a decade, and I think we’ve really pushed it to a whole new level with Plaid.”
“As some of you may know, our product plan is based on [the 1987 film]Spaceballs, and we’ve gone Plaid speed,” he continued. “So…why develop this incredibly fast car, it’s crazy fast and everything, and I think there’s something essential to the future of sustainable energy, which is that we have to show that an electric car is, hands down, the best automobile?”
“It has to be apparent, man, that sustainable energy automobiles can be the fastest, the safest, and the most kicking-ass cars in every way.”
On June 10, at 7 p.m. Pacific, a Model S Plaid delivery event in our Fremont facility will be televised live.
