San Jose, California Mayor Sam Liccardo confirmed the shooting at the VTA Light Yard facility in a tweet on Wednesday, saying that “several people [are]being treated” for injuries.
In a tweet, Liccardo wrote, “A shooting at the VTA facility on Younger St has left several people being treated, but the situation is still being assessed.” “The shooter has been taken down, and the facility has been evacuated. As more information becomes available, I will update.”
Brandi Childress, a VTA spokesperson, confirmed to KGO-TV in San Francisco that an active shooter was present at the VTA Light Yard. Childress told KGO-TV that she believes the situation is contained but she could not confirm the number of individuals injured during the shooting incident.
