Missouri woman killed in front of the polling place after she was hit by a car on her way to the polls.


A woman on her way to the polls was hit by a car in the early hours of election day outside a polling station in Missouri and killed.

Sergeant Benjamin Granda of the St. Louis County Police Department told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch that the woman was walking to the Affton White-Rodgers Community Center in Affton, near St. Louis, shortly after 6 a.m. when she was hit by the car.

She was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

According to the postal dispatch, the driver who hit the woman remained at the scene of the accident and cooperated with the police.
