Gavin MacLeod, the actor of The Love Boat, has died at the age of 90.
Gavin MacLeod, who played in TV shows such as The Love Boat and The Mary Tyler Moore Show, died at the age of 90.
According to his nephew, Mark See, MacLeod died early on Saturday.
The actor’s health had recently deteriorated, but no cause of death was disclosed, according to the trade newspaper.
On the 1970s comedy The Mary Tyler Moore Show, MacLeod rose to fame as Murray Slaughter, a caustic TV news journalist.
As the jovial Capt Stubing on The Love Boat, he rose to a prominent position and greater fame.
Early in his career, MacLeod played Joseph “Happy” Haines on McHale’s Navy from 1962 until 1964.
Kelly’s Heroes, The Sand Pebbles, The Sword of Ali Baba, War Hunt, and The Crime Busters were among his film credits.
