The moderator of Fox Business News, Maria Bartiromo, announced on Thursday evening that she would leave Twitter and join the former social media platform Parler because of its censorship policy.

“This is the same group that abused power in 2016. I will leave soon and join Parler,” Bartiromo wrote in a tweet. “Please open an account on @parler immediately.”

Bartiromo’s comments come shortly after she was described in several tweets by the social media platform as “misleading about an election or other civil society processes”.

On Wednesday night she shared an article published by The Federalist with the headline: “Yes, Democrats are trying to steal the election in Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania”.

The host of Fox Business Network’s Mornings with Maria had another tweet from Twitter on Thursday morning.

“4am dump/Wisconsin 65,000 votes 100% for Biden 4am dump/Michigan 138,499 votes 100% 4Biden,” she wrote in the tweet. “AZ pollsters who forced voters to use Sharpies thus invalidated the ballots. Trump cards in GA, NC, PA, WI, MI & they stop counting” before the election fairy comes overnight…”

Washington Newsday asked Fox News for a comment, but did not receive a response in time for publication.
