During the George Floyd Anniversary Protest, a police car hits a man riding a bike.
During a demonstration celebrating the one-year anniversary of George Floyd’s murder, a New York police vehicle pushed a rider off his bike, according to video posted on social media.
According to a spokeswoman for the New York Police Department, the event occurred shortly after a Volkswagen vehicle plowed through a group of demonstrators on bikes on the Brooklyn Bridge at 10 p.m. on Tuesday.
A biker leapt onto the hood of the vehicle as it attempted to drive through traffic, according to the spokesman.
With the man on the hood, the Volkswagen sped away. The speed of the vehicle was unknown to police, who claimed the matter was still under investigation.
A police vehicle accompanying the protest pursued the Volkswagen and “inadvertently” injured another bicycle with the vehicle’s side-view mirror, according to an NYPD spokeswoman.
“The officer in that vehicle had noticed the suspect’s vehicle driving with the individual on the hood, and in an attempt to pull over that vehicle, the biker was side-struck,” according to the spokesman.
New York City. Is this a vintage video (not mine)? I only watched it tonight.
According to reports, a car collided with a protestor who was blocking the road; the officer pursued and collided with a motorcyclist who was also obstructing the road.

Screams can be heard in the video taken after the truck sped away with the man on the hood.
The clip then shows the NYPD vehicle drive forward and knock another man off his bike. He appears to get up seconds later, as others are seen rushing to his aid.
Although the person who posted the clip was unsure when it took place, the NYPD spokesman confirmed it took place on the Brooklyn Bridge on Tuesday night.
The NYPD spokesman said the cyclist had “very minor complaints of pain” and refused medical attention at the scene.
He added that police soon caught up with the Volkswagen and arrested the driver, who was not named. Charges against him are pending, the NYPD spokesman said.
Police said the man who was on the hood of the Volkswagen sustained only “scrapes and bruises.”
He and another man who was struck by the vehicle both refused medical attention, according to the NYPD spokesman.
There were. This is a brief summary.
