The Americans are still waiting to find out whether the Democratic candidate Joe Biden won the 2020 election in Nevada against President Donald Trump.
Early Thursday morning, Biden led the state by less than one percentage point. The Associated Press gave Biden 264 votes on the electoral college after he had already called the Democrat in Arizona, so a victory in Nevada would give him over the 270 votes needed to win the election.
President Donald Trump has 214 votes in the electoral college after the AP calls.
More results were expected Wednesday from Nevada’s boroughs, including major cities, but Nevada officials have now said they will not give an update on the election results until Thursday, 12 noon ET.
Meanwhile, impatient Twitter users posted memes mocking how long it took to find out who had secured the six votes in the state’s electoral college.
Among those who shared memes were sports journalist Jemele Hill and New York Times reporter Astead W. Herndon.
“Nevada: I’m leaving this house right now!” Hill tweeted. “Nevada too,” she added next to a picture of the late musician Prince reading on a couch.

“Can you hurry up and count the votes,” another person tweeted next to a picture of the older Steve Rodgers, played by Chris Evans, from the end of the movie Avengers: Endgame.
“No, I don’t think I’ll do that,” the still from the movie is subtitled.

“All: Nevada we are waiting!!!” said another tweet, next to an excerpt of a song from the comedy musical Firebringer. “I don’t really want to do the work today,” sings one of the characters from the musical in the video.
And all of them: Nevada weâre waiting!!

“Of all the states, you’d think Nevada would be faster at counting,” added the Full Frontal with Samantha Bee Twitter account.
Nevada’s Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske issued a press release on Wednesday in which she answered questions about the Nevada ballot counting process.
The process is proceeding “at the expected pace,” she said in the release, adding that “the schedule for counting ballots in Nevada is derived from the process approved by the legislature, and this process requires that all properly received ballots be counted for up to nine days after the election.
Cegavske also said that Nevada election officials did not stop counting the ballots at the end of election night. “The counting of ballots is underway and will continue until every ballot submitted is counted,” she added.
