A montage of The Daily Show by Fox News presenters and Republicans accusing Democrats of not backing down in the 2018 midterm elections was seen six million times on Twitter. The Daily Show showed the video and said “Meanwhile, in 2018…”
The video shows numerous presenters accusing the Democrats of being “bad losers” and having a “problem admitting defeat,” which is in stark contrast to how they reacted to the behavior of President Donald Trump in the last few days after he lost the election to President-elect Joe Biden.
The video features White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, Fox host Laura Ingraham, former House Speaker Newt Gingrich and Jeanine Pirro of Fox News, among others. It has been seen more than 6 million times, shared more than 70,000 times and liked more than 160,000 times.

The video shows Republicans making numerous accusations against Democrats, including not accepting election results, noting “missing ballots,” stealing elections through lawsuits, and spreading conspiracy theories about the election.
As the RNC’s spokesman in 2018, McEnany can be seen in the video saying: “The Democrats are bad losers. They refuse to acknowledge that they lost the election. So what are they doing? They cry out for wrongdoing, misconduct, crime and fraud.”
Yesterday, Fox News cut off a press conference that McEnany held when she accused the Democratic Party of election fraud without evidence. Host Neil Cavuto said after the interruption: “Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa – I just think we need to be very clear.
“She accused the other side of welcoming the fraud and illegal voting. Until she has more details to substantiate this allegation, I cannot continue to show you this in good faith.
The Daily Show video also shows, as Fox presenter Ingraham says in 2018, “Democrats, even more than Republicans, seem to have a problem admitting defeat. Either the electoral system has collapsed, or some mysterious votes are hidden somewhere”.
Trump has not yet admitted his electoral defeat, and there is speculation that he will admit it at all, as the president even tweeted today: “We will win!
In addition, in a clip from the Ingraham Angle, posted on Twitter today, November 10, Ingraham made the unfounded claim that “There is no question that mass mail-in votes will be held in the United States. It was a tremendous disaster.
“We must never again allow democrats to impose this on our country, given what we see days later, and days later we still don’t have a final count.
The viral video from The Daily Show also shows that in 2018, according to Gingrich on Fox News: “You have a whole bunch of Democrats who just bluntly said, ‘If our candidate doesn’t win, they stole the election’.
On November 8, Trump quoted Gingrich in a tweet denounced by Twitter as a controversial claim, saying “We believe these people are thieves. The big city machines are corrupt. This was a stolen election.”
Following the results of the 2020 election, Trump repeatedly claimed that the election was stolen without evidence, with his supporters adopting “Stop the Theft” as their slogan.
