Over the weekend, Merseyside police complained about anti-social behaviour in the West Derby Village area and asked parents to check where their children were.

Three young people were arrested tonight after youths threw “rockets” at them and members of the public, according to police reports.

Police are appealing to parents to check where their children are and what they are doing.

The police reported that they and members of the public were verbally abused and thrown rockets at them and members of the public tonight while “trying to keep people safe”.

In a Facebook posting, police asked, “Parents, do you know where your children are and what they are doing?

said a spokesperson for Merseyside police, “Parents, do you know where your children are and what they are doing!

As a result, three teenagers were arrested and brought home on charges of cycling offences, public order offences and possession of fireworks.

“Tonight, 3 youths were arrested and brought home for a number of offences, including dangerous cycling offences, public order offences and possession of fireworks.

“Tonight and for the past two evenings we have received numerous complaints about anti-social behaviour in the West Derby Village area.

“This behaviour will not be tolerated and Merseyside police will work with partners to identify all those involved in this behaviour or in breaches of Covid restrictions.

“Members of the public and officials have suffered verbal abuse and have been pelted with rockets for trying to get people to safety.
