Pensioner runs screaming for help into the street after finding a man in his bedroom.


The police confirmed that a man was arrested after the incident on Monday, October 26, around 7:45 p.m. in Nursery Road, Lydiate.

An elderly woman ran into the street and screamed for help after a stranger was allegedly found in her upstairs bedroom.

The man allegedly jumped out of the woman’s bedroom window and fled through back gardens.

she said: “The man was upstairs while she was in her living room, she came out screaming for help”.

A neighbor who wrote on Facebook said the man “jumped out of a bedroom window” when the frightened pensioner raised the alarm.

The neighbor continued that the alleged burglar had fled and tried to escape through backyards, but was caught by police nearby.

She added: “The police were amazing and were there within minutes!

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We were called in at 7.45pm on Monday (26th) to report a break-in at a house in Nursery Road, Lydiate.

“A 50 year old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and released on bail”.
