Everton scouts could have good reason to attend every day of the group stages at EURO 2020 this summer.

The tournament gets underway on Friday as Turkey face Italy in Rome with the group stage running until June 23.

The top-two in each group plus four best third-placed teams go through to the knockout phase.

Everton have several stars featuring in the tournament as well as former players and reported transfer targets.

The Turkish right-back has been linked with a £15m move to Everton from Lille.

Marcel Brands is searching for a long-term successor to Seamus Coleman and Celik contributed four goals and three assists last term.

The 24-year-old is under contract until 2023.

Manchester United and Wales winger James was linked with an Everton loan switch in January.

The 23-year-old started only 11 Premier League games last term and admitted this week he is playing ‘nowhere near’ his full potential at Old Trafford.

Everton are keen on signing a winger this summer.

Netherlands right-back Dumfries was linked with Everton last week.

It is said Marcel Brands – who knew Dumfries during their time at PSV together – is ready to ‘push ahead’ and land the 25-year-old from his former club.

Dumfries is said to be represented by Mino Raiola and Everton could take a closer look at him during the European Championships.

Szczesny was linked with Everton at the back-end of last season when Carlo Ancelotti was in charge.

Robin Olsen has returned to loan club AS Roma and despite hoping to stay at Goodison Park, the new manager may decide to take a search for a goalkeeper in a different direction.

The 31-year-old played 38 times for Juventus last season and his contract – which runs until 2024 – could prove a stumbling block.
