The PS5 is launched today, and gamers are expressing their frustration at trying to get their hands on the coveted next-generation console via meme.
Pre-orders sold out quickly in September, so players had to wait until today for their next chance to get their hands on the PlayStation 5. However, the process of buying consoles from retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart and Target was a stressful experience for some, given the high demand and limited inventory.
On the day of launch, the PS5 is sold exclusively online. Therefore, the lucky customers who manage to buy a console today will not be those who camp outside the stores in the early morning hours, but those who can update multiple tabs at once and get to the checkout in a flash.
Unlucky gamers who haven’t yet managed to buy a console on the day of its launch share their disappointment with other gamers via Twitter.
Ryan shared a meme from a sad clown sitting at a computer, saying “what I look like when I stay up all night just to not get a PS5 from Best Buy or Target”.

A Twitter user told the Meme Muscular Man Enering restaurant and said “Go to Best Buy without pre-ordering PS5 like”. Customers who managed to pre-order the PS5 in September will be able to pick up their console at a Best Buy store – those who don’t have a pre-order will not be so lucky.

All players who missed the purchase of the PS5 in the early morning hours of the launch day should still have hope. Walmart is releasing its PS5 stock in batches later in the day, and Target said it may sell the consoles in-store if stock is available.
In addition, the PS5 is featured in Best Buy’s Black Fridride ad, while GameStop has indicated that it plans to sell the PS5 exclusively in-store on Black Friday. Alternatively, you can read our guide to buying the PS5 and prepare for a refresher.
