The PlayStation 5 will be available to the general public on Thursday, and gamers will have to navigate the Internet to get their hands on the next generation console.
Sony announced last week that gamers who want to buy the PS5 and PS5 digital consoles will have to do so online. Retailers will not be able to sell the next generation consoles in stores on November 12th – or November 19th, depending on your region.
“On the day of launch (November 12 or 19, depending on your region), there will be no devices for sale in the store – please do not plan to camp or queue at your local retailer on the day of launch in the hope of finding a PS5 console for purchase. Be safe, stay home and place your order online,” wrote Sid Shuman, Senior Director, YOU Content Communications, in a blog post last week.
However, retailers like Walmart and Best Buy will have opportunities to get the system on the day of PS5 launch. We also recommend following Wario64 on Twitter when websites have more PS5 units in stock.
The PS5 will be released on November 12th in the following countries: United States, Japan, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and South Korea. The rest of the world will receive it on November 19.
Following Sony’s announcement, Walmart turned to social media to let players know when they could order the PS5 online.
Players must go to the official PS5 landing page on Walmart’s website to order the console. Here are the following times when players can buy the PS5:
12 pm ET
15.00 hrs ET
18.00 hours ET
9 pm ET
GameStop has not given any guidelines on how to use the PS5 introduction, but some units may be available for pre-order on the website. No exact times have been given, so at this pace everything is a matter of luck.
Follow the official PS5 section on GameStop.com to see if units are sold.
Prior to the launch of the Xbox X/S series, Best Buy gave gamers an insight into what to expect on the day of launch on its website. On the company blog, Best Buy confirmed that the PS5 would not be sold on November 12 and that players would have to buy it online.
Players can choose to pick up the PS5 in the store after purchase or have a contactless curb.
Best Buy has not given any indication as to when the PS5 will go live, but players will still want to visit the PS5 section of the website.
Similar to the introduction of the Xbox series X/S, Target will only sell the PS5 online this week.
No time was given when more units will be sold, but the official website says that PS5 can only be ordered with contactless Drive Up or Order Pickup on November 12th.
Please continue to check stock levels in the Target PS5 section.
