Pokémon Go’ details for the 2-day Community Day in December

In 2020, December will be a big month for Pokémon Go. Not only is there usually a long list of events planned for the mobile game, the Community Day in December will include all Pokémon from 2019 onward and the Community Days in 2020.

The Official Niantic Blog has published details about what the Trainers can expect during the two-day Community Day in December.

The December Pokémon Go Community Day begins at 6am on Saturday, December 12th and ends at 10pm local time on Sunday, December 13th. This means Trainers have 40 hours to catch rare Shiny Pokémon and enhance their Go Battle League Pokémon with exclusive plays.

So what can the Pokémon Go-Trainers expect? Well, there are 22 different Pokémon that will be on display during the Community Days this weekend. How you catch them will depend on what kind you’re looking for.

The pool of Pokémon is divided between catching them in the wild, raiding them or hatching 2 km long eggs. Here is the list of Pokémon and how to find them on community day

Pokémon appearing in the wild: Charmander, Weed, Abra, Gastly, Rhyhorn, Elektabuzz, Magmar, Magikarp, Porygon, Seedot and Piplup.
Pokémon that appear during raids: Totodile, Swinub, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Ralts, Slakoth, Trapinch, Bagon, Turtwig and Chimchar.
From 2 km long eggs hatch Pokémon: Totodile, Swinub, Treecko, Torchic, Mudkip, Ralts, Slakoth, Trapinch, Bagon, Turtwig and Chimchar.

As for the exclusive moves, here is the list of Pokémon and what moves they will learn as they evolve during the event:

Develop Charmeleon further to get a Charmeleon that knows Dragon Breath.
Develop Kakuna to get a Beedrill that knows Drill Run.
Develop Kadabra to get an alakazam that can counterattack.
Develop Haunter to get a Gengar that masters the shadow run.
Develop Rhydon to a Rhyperior that controls Rock Wrecker.
Develop Electabuzz to get an Electivire that knows flamethrowers.
Develop Magmar to get a Magmortar that knows Thunderbolt.
Develop Magikarp to get a Gyarados that knows Aqua Tail

If you are a Trainer looking for a specific Pokémon or Shiny Pokémon, the frequency with which they appear will depend on the day.

The blog has explained which Pokémon will appear and what bonuses the Trainers will receive in the game. On Saturday, December 12 from 11am to 5pm local time, Weedle, Abra, Gastly, Rhyhorn, Seedot and Piplup will appear more frequently.

The coaches will experience twice the catch stardust and half the egg hatch distance during this six-hour window. The incense sticks will also last for three hours.

Mega Gengar will also appear more frequently in raids during this time.

As for Sunday, December 13, from 11:00 to 17:00 local time, Coaches Charmander, Electabuzz, Magmar, Magikarp and Porygon will be more frequent in the wild. You will also experience the double catch of the star dust as well as half the egg hatching distance and three hours of incense.

Mega Charizard X will appear more often during the six-hour window during raids.
