The first November event in Pokémon Go celebrates the animated series with special Pokémon encounters and the return of a legendary Pokémon in Raids.

In this new Pokémon Go event, called Animation Week, Pokémon bound to the two protagonists, Asch and Goh, will appear more often in the wild, and there will be a special, timed research event inspired by the storyline of the anime.

POKEMON GO ANIMATION WEEK START TIME

The Pokémon Go Animation Week begins on Friday, November 6th at 8 a.m. until Thursday, November 12th at 10 p.m. local time.

POKÉMON GO ANIMATION WEEK RESEARCH TASKS

Niantic confirmed in his blog that the Animation Week event will have an exclusive timed research that the instructors want to complete.

Although the specific tasks are not known, Niantic explains that it will have something to do with the plot of the anime. For those who don’t watch the Pokémon: Travel Anime, Ash and new travel companion Goh will travel to the various regions of the Pokémon world, including the new Galar region.

When the event goes live, we will update this section with the content of the research.

SHINY CUBON

Instructors have a higher than normal chance of finding and catching a Shiny Cubone during the animation week.

The Shiny Cubone is visibly different from its normal coloring. Normally the Cubone is brown in color, but its shiny shape makes it a vivid green. Pokémon Go Trainers have the chance to find it in the wild or hatch it from 7 km long eggs.

PLAY BONUS

There will be many in-game bonuses that Pokémon Go Trainers can earn in this upcoming tournament.

World Cap Pikachu will perform in the wilderness. This particular Pikachu will wear the same cap that Ash wears in the anime. It will also be available in its shiny form for lucky trainers.

A special Lugia will perform in Raids during the event. The psychic and flying legend from the Johto region will perform in five-star raids and know the exclusive attack Aeroblast.

Together with Lugia, other Pokémon such as Ivysaur, Pinsir, Snorlax, Golurk and others will also appear in raids.

The Pokémon hatching from 7 km long eggs include not only the already mentioned Cubone, but also Pichu, Mantyke and Riolu.

Trainers can also get Goh-inspired avatar items in the Style Shop, and the character can appear in Go Snapshot.
