“Moon Knight”: Who is the wonder figure of Oscar Isaac?

Moon Knight is the latest character from the Marvel Vaults to get his own show. Oscar Isaac is reported to play the hero for Disney+ in talks. Although the cast of the Star Wars actor has not yet been confirmed – Nick Kroll of the Kroll show and Daveed Diggs of Hamilton are reportedly also being approached for the role – Isaac fans have been wondering exactly who this moon knight is because of this announcement.

The character was first introduced in August 1975 in an issue of Werewolf by Night. Although he began as a villain in this series, he was transformed into a hero in 1976, albeit a darker one than many of the comic company’s characters.

Traditionally his story of creation is as follows. Moon Knight is Marc Spector, a boxer, marine and CIA agent, who turns into a mercenary who is almost killed by his employer during an archaeological excavation where the temple of the Egyptian moon god Khonshu is being unearthed. After Spector’s employee murders one of the archaeologists working on the excavations, Spector fights him and is left to die.

He is brought to the temple, where he is offered a second life by Khonshu, where he becomes the avatar of this god on earth, with the shroud of this god becoming his superhero’s mantle.

Although he is the avatar of an Egyptian god, Spector returns to America, where he wisely invests his money to become a millionaire, giving him the means to develop a series of devices that will help him in his mission of fighting crime in the style of a nighttime vigilante.

If that makes him sound like the Marvel version of Bruce Wayne, there’s one thing that sets the two apart: Spector has a penchant for creating multiple false identities. Among his most common are multi-millionaire entrepreneur Steven Grant and cab driver Jake Lockley.

Moon Knight was first announced to join Disney+ in August 2019 as part of the second wave of TV shows for the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) streaming service. This was announced at the D23 Expo alongside other MCU shows such as Ms. Marvel and She-Hulk. At that time, it was announced that the show would be broadcast in 2022, although this may have been affected by the production delays associated with the coronavirus that the industry is facing.

The “Moon Knight Disney+” series is being developed by Jeremy Slater, who previously worked at the Umbrella Academy. He twittered in November 2019: “It’s no exaggeration to say that joining the MCU is the greatest honor of my career. I am thrilled and terrified and overjoyed.

“And while I can’t tell you anything about the story or the cast, I can tell you that we have put together a room full of brilliant writers who really love this character and we are all working hard to create something special for you. So stay tuned and stay tuned. Moon Knight is on its way, and it’s going to be a hell of a ride.”
