In ‘Fortnite,’ How Do You Get Rid of Alien Parasites?

Alien parasites have been added to Fortnite’s “Invasion” season, leaving many players wondering what they do and how to get rid of them.

Fortnite version 17.10 was released on Tuesday, bringing a slew of new aspects to the popular battle royale game. The most recent patch included, among other things, the addition of zero-gravity zones to the map, new cosmetic prizes for the revamped combat pass, and mothership experiments that allow you to gain precious loot.

These modifications were in addition to the typical bug fixes and balancing tweaks that players would anticipate from a patch of this magnitude.

The introduction of a new species of fauna, simply known as alien parasites, was arguably the most significant change from the update. These symbiotic monsters, which resemble giant leaches with many eyestalks emerging from their bodies, can now be found roaming the island of the game.

In Fortnite Invasion, What Do Alien Parasites Do?

Alien parasites attach themselves to every live entity that comes close to them. They are frequently fused to animals such as chickens, boars, or wolves, and if their hosts are killed, they will try to leach onto you. Green eggs sprinkled throughout the area also spawn facehugger-like monsters, so keep an eye out for those.

A parasite attached to your head does have some advantages, such as protecting you from headshots and double your movement speed. They will, on the other hand, slowly deplete your health bar until it reaches 60%, placing you at a disadvantage while fighting other players. Thankfully, they don’t deplete your shields, so you’ll still be able to defend yourself.

With all of the pros and drawbacks, you’ll have to decide whether or not an extraterrestrial parasite is something you really desire. If you do get one by mistake, or you later change your mind, then they are relatively simple to remove.

How to Remove Alien Parasites in Fortnite Invasion

Before you get rid of your alien parasite, it is worth trying to live with it for a trial period. All you need to do is keep yourself stocked up on healing supplies (particularly the fast-acting bandages) and you will be able to replenish your life bar. This is a brief summary.
