How to catch the Swords of Justice in ‘Pokémon Sword and Shield’ Crown Tundra DLC

While nearly every legendary Pokémon can be captured through the Dynamax adventure, the Swords of Justice from the Unova region can be found through a special side mission in the Crown Tundra DLC.

Cobalion, Virizion, Terrakion, and Keldeo, members of the Swords of Justice, can only be captured in Pokémon Sword and Shield via this special sub-mission – unless you are using Pokémon Home.

Find out where and how you can catch all four legendary Pokémon in the Crown Tundra.

After you finish the Calyrex story, you return to Freezington to talk to Peonia and check off the mission as completed. When you leave Freezington, you will see Sonia waiting on the outskirts of town. Talk to her to start a brand new sub-mission to search for the Swords of Justice.

Sonia will explain that she has researched the four special legendary Pokémon from the Unova region and followed their trail into the crown tundra. Since it’s so cold, she asks if you can track down the Swords of Justice so she can rest.

She shows you the Pokémon tracks on the ground, and you have to find three different Pokémon scattered throughout the crown tundra. Each track fills up your research by 2 percent, so you’ll need to find 50 of them to reveal the legendary Pokémon.

How to catch Virizion

Traces of Virizion can be found in the bed of the giant of the crown tundra and in the surrounding areas. The easiest way to find the traces is to find the first pair. As soon as you select it with the A key, another pair of nearby tracks will be populated.

The Grass and Combat type Pokémon reaches level 70 and has the attacks Sacred Sword, Sword Dance, Leaf Sword and Melee.

How to Catch Terrakion

Terrakion’s traces can be found in Lakeside Cave, at Ballimere Lake and in nearby areas. Find 50 pairs of Terrakion tracks to make the legendary Pokémon appear in Lakeside Cave.

The Rock and Battle Pokémon can be encountered at level 70 and come with the attacks Holy Sword, Sword Dance, Stone Edge, Melee.

How to capture Cobalion

The traces of the leader of the Swords of Justice, Cobalion, are found in the Frigid Sea, Roaring-Sea Cave and nearby areas. Find 50 pairs of Cobalion’s tracks to make the Pokémon appear in the Arctic Sea.

Cobalion, the Pokémon of steel and combat type, appears at level 70 with the attacks Holy Sword, Sword Dance, Iron Head and Melee.

How to capture Keldeo

The fourth and youngest member of the Swords of Justice, Keldeo, does not need any instructors to find his tracks. If you have Virizion, Terrakion and Cobalion in your group, you can go to Ballimere Lake instead.

On a small island in this area the instructors will find an empty pot where you can make curry. If you do so, Keldeo will fight.

Keldeo is a Water and Combat Pokémon that appears at level 65 with the attacks Holy Sword, Sword Dance, Secret Sword and Water Pump.

The Crown Tundra for Pokémon Sword and Shield is now available for Nintendo Switch.
