While players of Genshin Impact are waiting for the next major update of the online role-playing game, a preview trailer has been released, introducing new characters, a new reputation system and many more details.
Version 1.1 is scheduled for release in Genshin Impact on November 11, which developer Mihoyo calls “A New Star Approaches”.
Before we go into all the details, take a look at the trailer below for the upcoming Genshin Impact update.
The trailer was released following a stream of Chinese developers of the game, which contained information about the highlights from the above trailer.
The biggest announcement was the unveiling of four new characters on the Genshin Impact list. Childe is shown first and is a hydro archer that can switch between melee and ranged attacks.
Zhongli is a Geo Spear user who can use strong area effect attacks and is more of a defensive character. Both Childe and Zhongli will be 5-star characters.
There are two more characters that will come to Genshin Impact. Xinyan is a pyro fighter who uses a claymore. It has a rockstar/idol motive and can, as the trailer looks like, do a lot of area damage.
Finally we have Diona, who is a cryobow user with a catgirl motif. Like most arch users, she specializes in attacks from a long distance. Both Xinyan and Diona are 4-star characters.
Besides the new characters, Genshin Impact will introduce a reputation system. This new system is tied to the different areas of the game. Building reputation with the help of this system will grant players exclusive rewards and customization items.
Other game updates coming with version 1.1 include portable waypoints to help you on your travels, a portable stove, a treasure compass, and much more. Mihoyo also revealed that there will be a series of side quests that will complete the Liyue chapter of the main story.
Unforgiven Stars, a seasonal event that begins with this upcoming update, will allow players to face new threats for two weeks. There will be quests and co-op challenges that players can complete to earn rewards.
Also announced were Mihoyo’s plans to introduce Genshin Impact on PS5. While there will not be a PS5 version of the game, players will be able to play the game on the next generation console as it is backwards compatible. The PS5 Genshin Impact will have faster load times and improved graphics.
After the Chinese stream, an English language (or at least subtitled) stream will arrive on YouTube at 12 noon EDT. You can watch the stream when it is live below.
Genshin Impact can be downloaded for free on PS5, PC, Android and iOS devices.
