Academy Award winner Oscar Isaac is supposed to play Solid Snake in the live-action adaptation of the popular video game series Metal Gear Solid, but the actor cast the role himself long before his official cast.
The deadline reported on Friday that the Star Wars actor is scheduled to play the role of Jordan Vogt-Roberts (Kong: Skull Island), the main protagonist of the movie. The screenplay for the movie Metal Gear Solid is written by Derek Connolly and there is no date set for shooting the movie, but Isaac has been preparing for this role.
In March 2019, when the cast of the original Netflix film Triple Frontier interviewed IGN, they were asked if they would make a video game film. Isaac said he would make Metal Gear Solid, and he “threw his hat in”.
When asked which character he would play, Isaac obviously said Snake.

Not long after the interview went live, director Vogt-Roberts turned to social media to pay tribute to Isaac’s words, and went one step further by telling the actor that “the ball is in Oscar’s court.
“To anyone who asks me what I think about Oscar telling Isaac he wants to be Solid Snake. The full process required to cast an icon has not even begun,” Vogt-Roberts tweeted in March 2019, “but… Ask @Bosslogic where the idea for his brilliant mock-up came from. Now it’s Oscar’s turn.”

Bosslogic, the renowned digital artist known for casting actors in iconic roles, provided the director with his vision, which now appears prophetic with the casting of Isaac in the role of the fixed snake.

Metal Gear Solid was created by cult video game producer Hideo Kojima and released by Konami.
The first Metal Gear Solid game was released on the original PlayStation in 1998. The plot follows Snake, a soldier whose mission is to stop a terrorist threat from the renegade special forces unit Foxhound.
With the last game of Metal Gear Solid (Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain) released in 2015, there were five main series games – with many more side effects.
Metal Gear Solid V was the last game Kojima added to the series before he left Konami.
