ARK: Survival Evolved fans have just witnessed some pretty massive revelations as they exceeded Studio Wildcard’s donation target during the Extra Life live stream on Saturday afternoon. After countless charitable donations, fans can now watch brand new trailers for Genesis Part 2 and the newly released TLC 3 update.
The star of the new clip, which starts with Genesis, is Doctor Who’s David Tennant. He slips into the role of the villainous Sir Edmund Rockwell and tells the survivors that their efforts to disrupt his carefully planned simulation are in vain.
“Welcome, Survivor. Enjoy the view. You see before you the peak of human ingenuity. All the hopes and dreams of humanity have been carefully nested in this lifeboat. Each of its shiny rings is full of the wonders of science and nature, a paradise where the boundary between biology and technology is virtually eliminated. And now it all belongs to me. I control this ship now. I control its development and, very soon, its fate! From there, my will will spread out over the cosmos forever, infinitely and immortal. And there is nothing you or this puppet, this shadow of it, can do to stop it! I have already set my designs in motion. Our future awaits, survivor!”
In addition to this dialogue, fans will also get a glimpse of a bunch of new creatures. Among them are a long-legged beast that looks like an AT-AT, a futuristic lion and a tiny little thing called Noglin. Despite its small stature, it is known to possess enemies with the help of mind control abilities. As for the map itself, its aesthetics are somewhat similar to Extinction’s prehistoric chrome blend. For those less familiar with the many extensions of ARC, the whole thing could conjure up Horizon: Zero Dawn Vibes.
However, Genesis was only half of the Extra Life celebrations, as viewers were also able to take a last look at the TLC 3 update, which recently went live on all platforms. In addition to massive changes to the Stegosaurus and the Wollhaarmammoth, the substantial patch also introduces insect breeding, redesigned UI elements and more. This major patch could be one of the last major revisions for ARK before the release of Genesis Part 2 in March 2021.
Today’s Extra Life Stream marks the first time that Studio Wildcard presents the content of Genesis Part 2 with a high level of detail. In addition to the new creatures shown in this trailer, it has also been shown that the expansion includes a vehicle-like animal. Since many more revelations are expected in the further course of the stream, these two trailers are only the most important highlights of the lengthy event.
ARK: Survival Evolved is now available for PC, Xbox One, PS4, Switch, Mac and Linux.
