The Chief Executive of the Scottish Professional Football League welcomes a “major” sponsorship arrangement.
cinch, an online automobile retailer, has been announced as the new sponsor of the Scottish Professional Football League.
A five-year contract has been reached, which will last until the end of the 2025-26 season.
The contract, which will encompass all four divisions, is the SPFL’s largest title sponsorship agreement ever, and it has been welcomed by chief executive Neil Doncaster, who was chastised last year for failing to obtain a title sponsor.
“This is a hugely important cooperation for our member clubs and Scottish football as a whole,” he said.
“Our negotiations with cinch have been really positive, and the sponsorship agreement’s longevity indicates their long-term commitment to Scottish football.
“Despite the current economic climate and the difficult nature of the global sponsorship sector in general, this is the greatest sponsorship in the SPFL’s history.
“It’s a ringing confirmation of Scottish football’s ongoing popularity, not just north of the border but all around the world.
“It’s an exciting time for Scottish football, and I’m looking forward to building on this new cooperation as we continue to promote Scottish football and increase its global exposure.”
