Romelu Lukaku discusses his favorite Everton memory and a teammate he knew was a ‘baller’.
Former Everton striker Romelu Lukaku has been reflecting on his time at the club in a social media Q&A session.
The Belgium international is currently on international duty with his country, where he has helped them progress through the group rounds of Euro 2020.
The summer tournament follows the 28-year-important old’s involvement in Inter Milan’s Serie A title triumph at the end of the 2020/21 season.
Lukaku joined Everton on loan in 2013 before becoming a permanent Everton player a year later for a club-record price.
On Wednesday afternoon, the striker used Twitter to engage with fans in an impromptu Q&A, revealing that his favorite moment in royal blue occurred right at the start of his loan stay with the club.
“Home debut versus Newcastle…,” he answered to a fan who asked the question. It was fantastic.”
Lukaku scored twice for Roberto Martinez’s Everton in a 3-2 victory at Goodison Park on that day, as well as setting up Ross Barkley for Everton’s other goal.
And the former Blues forward shared his thoughts on ex-teammate John Stones, who is currently flourishing at Manchester City following a difficult period for Pep Guardiola’s side.
“Knew it from day one!” the 28-year-old revealed when asked about the defender. Stonesy is a wonderful dude.”
