Liverpool ‘Boy Scout’ Isak Bergmann Johannesson

Liverpool is pursuing IFK Norrkoping talent Isak Bergmann Johannesson, but according to Aftonbladet, it faces competition from Manchester United.

According to reports, the Reds sent scouts on Monday to watch Iceland’s youth national game against AIK, while United’s scouts are said to have watched him earlier this month, while Juventus also watched the 17-year-old.

Norrkoping could sell in January in search of a big offer, but is not desperate to make money demands from the report.

Mehmet-Can Aydin of the German U17 is challenged by Isak Bergmann Johannesson of the Icelandic U17 during the UEFA Elite Round match between the German U17 and the Icelandic U17 in the EEA Arena.

Johannesson plays mainly as a winger on both flanks, but can also be used as a playmaker.

The teenager was born in England as he is the son of former midfielder Joey Gudjonsson from Leicester City and Burnley, while his grandfather Gudjon Thordarson played in Stoke City, Barnsley, Notts County and Crewe Alexandra.

Lukaku persuaded his teammate to snub Liverpool

The former Everton star Romelu Lukaku is said to have persuaded Jeremy Doku to snub a move to Liverpool.

The 18-year-old came to Rennes from Anderlecht this summer after being associated with a move to Anfield in the past.

L’Equipe, quoted by Sport Witness, claims that the Belgian international had previously been tempted by a move to Anfield.

However, the director of the Anderlecht Academy, Jean Kindermans, has revealed that the Belgians have been able to use his services thanks to the help of the former player Lukaku.

“It was a coincidence. Romelu, who comes by occasionally, was in my office at the time. We talked about the difficulty of convincing young players from Anderlecht to stay with us or to sign young players like Jeremy.

“He said, ‘Boss, if you want, I’ll give him a call. I picked up my phone, took his message and then sent it to Dad to give him the advice of a man who had an early start. I think maybe he played a small part in it.”

Origi connected with credit output

After Divock Origi slipped in the pecking order in Liverpool, it could go on loan in January to claim a place in the Belgian squad for Euro 2020.

Roberto Martínez did not include the striker in his squad for the international break in September, while he remained on the bench for the two UEFA National League matches in October.

The 25-year-old, who is still playing in the Premier League this season, has been associated with a move to Club Brugge.

And Voetbal Nieuws, who is quoted by Sport Witness, claims that he will be able to return temporarily to his home country in January after falling behind the recognized front players of Jurgen Klopp in the Reds’ pecking order behind Diogo Jota and Takumi Minamino.
