Liverpool offers fans a return to the stadium
Liverpool has published a statement in which they report on their preparations for the return of supporters to Anfield.
It was expected that the opening games of the 2020-21 season would be held behind closed doors until at least October at the earliest, with the likelihood that the stadiums would then operate at reduced capacity in line with social distancing measures. As of the end of September, this plan was postponed due to the increasing number of cases of COVID-19 at national level.
However, as the situation continues to evolve and change, we continue to work hard to ensure that when the time comes for spectators to return, we are in the best possible position to welcome fans back to Anfield while ensuring a safe environment for all present.
So we are currently working on a number of new processes and systems to be introduced in the coming weeks, which will enable us to be adequately prepared to welcome fans back to Anfield as safely and efficiently as possible when government guidelines allow.

Sturridge tilted for return to Man City
Man City was urged to consider the reinstatement of former Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge in order to resolve the injury crisis in advance.
Raheem Sterling took the lead in the absence of Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus.
But former city defender Micah Richards and former England international Carlton Cole both believe that Pep Guardiola should turn to freelance agent Sturridge to expand his options.
Speaking to BBC Sport, Richards said: “If he plays football again, maybe with another team abroad, but I can’t help thinking that there are some clubs in the Premier League who miss a trick by not signing him.
Daniel Sturridge from Liverpool celebrates after his goal
“I would involve the city just to step in while Sergio Aguero and Gabriel Jesus are injured. Even if he was halfway fit, he would score goals in this team”.
Meanwhile, Cole expressed his views on the striker at TalkSPORT.
“He obviously has the quality, he is a quality player.
“He’s had his injuries, but I wouldn’t call that a priority right now. He played games over in Turkey and did well there.
“He decided to leave Turkey and come back. Right now that would be the best place for him.
“He knows Manchester City, he knows the people there, and hopefully he could influence their striker problem right now. ”
If only Sturridge could play as a central defender…
Liverpool’s ‘Approach’ for Nuno Mendes
According to reports from Portugal, Liverpool has moved closer to Nuno Mendes.
According to Record and O Jogo, both the Reds and Arsenal have turned to Sporting Lisbon as the Portuguese giants desperately tried to tie the teenager to a new contract with a £40 million release clause (A Bola).
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain #15 from Liverpool plays the ball against Sporting CP’s Nuno Mendes #35 during their pre-season friendly at Yankee Stadium.
I’ll be honest, I don’t really see the need for another left defender in Anfield at the moment.
