Luke Chambers, a former captain of Ipswich Town, has joined Colchester.
Luke Chambers, the former captain of Ipswich Town, has signed a two-year contract with Colchester.
The 35-year-old defender joins former teammate Cole Skuse in joining Colchester following nine years at Portman Road with Ipswich.
“It’s something that really interested me with how the club dealt with the last year, clearly it wasn’t the season on the pitch that the club wanted,” Chambers, who has made almost 800 appearances in an 18-year career, told Colchester’s website.
“The chairman devised a strategy to put us in a position to attempt and do something this year.
“That immediately appealed to me; I want to be a part of a club that is striving for promotion and improvement.”
