Liam Shephard is taken off the hands of Newport by Salford.
Liam Shephard, a defender from Newport, has joined Salford on a two-year agreement.
Last season, the 26-year-old made 52 appearances for the south Wales club, helping them to the League Two play-off final.
Shephard, who has also played for Swansea, Yeovil, Peterborough, and Forest Green, admits it was a difficult decision to leave Rodney Parade.
“It wasn’t an easy decision; I had a great season with Newport last year, getting to the play-off final; it was difficult, but I went with my gut,” he told Salford’s official website.
“I think my gut feeling was to come here and sign here because of the club’s project and where it wants to go, and that’s what I did, and I’m pleased to get it done.”
