Kalidou Koulibaly has Naples transferred to Liverpool in the middle of the connections.

The Reds have been linked to a number of central defenders in recent weeks to replace Virgil van Dijk, who has been absent for the long term.

Kalidou Koulibaly says he remains “calm” as speculation about his future in Naples grows amidst ongoing ties with Liverpool.

The Reds have been linked to a number of central defenders in recent weeks to replace the long-absent Virgil van Dijk.

One of the names associated with the Anfield club as a possible replacement for Van Dijk is Koulibaly.

Before he continued: “I had a more difficult season, even if I didn’t do badly, but we know what level I am at and we knew that I can give more.

“I’m playing at my level and I’m helping this team and these people because I want to give something back to them, then we’ll see what happens.

“This year the coach told me that it was very important to me because I have to help the team and I have to get back to my level.

“He just told me the truth and said it to my face, and I went to work and was available to everyone, and today we see the result,
