Harry Maguire takes part in a training session with England.
On Thursday, Harry Maguire joined the rest of the England group in training as he continues to recuperate from an ankle injury.
As the European Championship opener against Croatia on Sunday approaches, the 28-year-fitness old’s has been a hot topic.
Maguire injured his ankle ligaments in Manchester United’s Premier League victory over Aston Villa on May 9 when Anwar El Ghazi landed awkwardly on him.
Gareth Southgate said it would be a “plus” for him to play at the Euros after he sat out the rest of the season, including being an unused substitute in Villarreal’s Europa League final loss.
Maguire, on the other hand, has been making solid progress and has continued to ease his way back by exercising with the rest of the 26-man squad after working separately from the group in the gym on Wednesday.
During the open phase of the practice at St George’s Park on Thursday, Maguire appeared at ease taking part in training drills with teammates, though his availability versus Croatia remains uncertain.
