Gwion Edwards, an Ipswich winger, has joined Wigan Athletic.
Wigan Athletic’s winger Gwion Edwards has signed a two-year contract with the Sky Bet League One club.
Edwards began his career at Swansea and spent seven years with the club after graduating from the youth. He made 40 appearances in all competitions for Ipswich last season.
“I’m really glad to get things sorted,” the 28-year-old, who scored against Latics in the first game of last season, told the club’s website.
“I came up from Swansea, had a physical, and met everyone, and I’m extremely excited to be here. I’m excited to get started on this project.
“I’ve played here before against Wigan and am familiar with the club and boss. He (Leam Richardson) persuaded me to make the move because of their ambitions for what they want to accomplish and where they want to go.
“It’s something I’d like to be a part of.”
