The Power of Social Media by James Rodriguez

Here are your Everton morning headlines for Thursday, October 29.

All the latest news and rumors from the Goodison Park area

The Colombian has the eighth largest number of supporters in the world of sports and the sixth largest among footballers, with an incredible total of 95.8 million.

When Everton signed James Rodriguez, it was obviously to improve their luck on the field. But his enormous social media profile did not hurt the club either.

And in his short time in Merseyside, global interest in Everton – and Rodriguez’s homeland in particular – has skyrocketed, according to Everton’s Director of Marketing, Communications and Community, Richard Kenyon.

“The impact we have achieved is a testament to our long-term planning and vision for the U.S. and South America and the efforts we have made to build relationships and understand the audience,” said Richard Kenyon.

Former Everton goalkeeper Nigel Martyn expressed his opinion on the new commitments Rodriguez and Allan. He admitted that he had initial reservations about the Colombian, which will probably surprise many blues fans.

Blues’ former goalkeeper on new engagements

“Great player, great World Cup, who goes to Real Madrid, maybe he would have hoped to go to a bigger club, so people often worry about this way of signing contracts,” he said.

It’s certainly interesting to see which former Everton midfielder he thinks the Brazilian reminds him of.

But things have changed in recent months. Martyn also praised Allan in an interview with HITC.

MegaFon delighted with Everton contract

The mobile phone operator is now becoming the jersey sponsor for the women. Another MegaFon company, Yota, becomes their sleeve sponsor.

The Everton Women are currently preparing for the FA Women’s Cup final this weekend, and their commercial prospects have been boosted by MegaFon.

“This partnership reflects the growing importance of women’s football and the exciting future for our women’s team,” said Ismailov.

Everton Women’s Sports and Commercial Director, Sarvar Ismailov, and Megafon’s Managing Director, Gevork Vermishyan, both spoke of their delight at the agreement.
