Divock Origi has launched a scholarship program for Liverpool kids.
Divock Origi, a striker for Liverpool, has started a new scholarship program to help youngsters in the area.
The Divock Origi Scholarship, which will cover tuition fees and include an annual payment towards living costs (a total of £12,250 per year) and will be offered on a competitive basis to two students who will begin an undergraduate course at the university in September 2021, will be offered in partnership with the University of Liverpool.
In 2022, a third student will be supported, followed by a fourth and final student in 2023.
“I realize the value of being given an opportunity, while also sincerely believing in the ability of future generations to achieve greatness, from a purpose standpoint and recognizing the position of influence and impact I’m lucky to have,” Origi stated.
Professor Gavin Brown, Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Education at the University of Liverpool, hailed the Belgium international.
“I am ecstatic that Divock Origi has agreed to collaborate with us to provide new chances for young people in Liverpool,” he said.
“Divock is a role model for young people in our city, and his assistance will aid us in our efforts to develop local talent and potential.”
