Young sisters with mysterious burns admitted to hospital

Two young children in southern St. Louis were taken to a hospital Friday morning where they suffered from some kind of burns, although Fox 2/News 11 has confirmed that there was no fire in their home.

St. Louis police have presented very little information on this matter.

She responded to a call for help at an apartment building near 14th and LaSalle in the Peabody Housing Complex shortly after 9:30 a.m.

Two children were rushed to hospital, authorities said.

The victims are little girl sisters – both under 3 years old, a neighbor said.

“The police kept running back and forth A detective was outside. The police (boss) was outside, he just shook his head,” said neighbour Shinita King. “They came outside. One of the little babies was wrapped in a blanket. The police carried it. The mother came out and held the other little baby. The mother and the two little babies got into the ambulance, and the police were right behind them. I feel sorry for the babies. I am very worried and I feel sorry for the babies. I want to know if they’re all right.”

Investigators are still investigating the source of the burns, police said.

Nothing is known about the girls’ condition or the severity of their injuries.
