Tranmere Rovers’ League Two season could be defined by five fixtures.

Five games might decide Tranmere Rovers’ League Two season.

Tranmere Rover’s fixtures for the 2021/22 Sky Bet League Two season have been determined, and the club is preparing for the coming season.

Micky Mellon’s side will compete in the level for the second year in a succession after losing in the play-off semi-finals to eventual champions Morecambe in May.

Since then, Mellon has returned to Prenton Park, and the playing lineup has shifted dramatically.

Rovers have been active in the transfer market, signing new contracts, and their attention is now turning to the start of August.

We’ve picked a few of Rovers’ key dates from their schedule that we think will stand out here at the ECHO.

Mellon’s second spell as Tranmere manager will begin with a Prenton Park match against Walsall.

The club only played four games in front of a tiny crowd in 2020/21 due to Government COVID-19 requirements. In the coming season, the club hopes to attract a greater crowd.

Mellon’s new image With Manny Monthe set for an early Tranmere return, Rovers will be eager to get off to a winning start against Matty Taylor’s Saddlers.

A week later, Rovers go to Vale Park to play Port Vale in their first away match.

Tranmere Rovers have made two successful trips to Burslem in Sky Bet League Two, winning both times.

They triumphed in dramatic circumstances last November, and James Norwood scored twice in a 2-1 victory in February 2019.

With the Valiants behind 3-2 in extra time, goals from Kaiyne Woolery and Kieron Morris’ strike into the top corner gave the Valiants a 4-3 victory.

Over the Christmas period, Tranmere will play three games.

On Boxing Day, they host Barrow, followed by a Tuesday night visit to newly promoted Hartlepool United, managed by ex-Rovers defender Dave Challinor, at Victoria Park on December 29.

Salford City are Tranmere’s first opponents of 2022 when Mellon takes his players to the Ammies’ Peninsula Stadium on New Year’s Day.

Rovers have been handed a Good Friday game on the road at Bradford City on Friday, April 15.

When the two clubs meet at Valley Parade, the Whites will take on Derek Adams’ Bantams.

The following day is Easter Monday. The summary comes to a close.
