The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will attend their first G7 gatherings, marking yet another step forward in their careers as senior royals.
On Friday evening, William and Kate will attend the G7 leaders reception at the Eden Project, where they will be joined by the Queen, the Prince of Wales, and the Duchess of Cornwall.
Following that, Charles and his son, the Duke of Edinburgh, will host a reception for the leaders and CEOs of some of the world’s top corporations to discuss how the private sector can collaborate with governments to address the climate emergency.
Kate and First Lady Jill Biden will participate in a joint engagement earlier in the day.
Mrs Biden was questioned about seeing the royal family on Thursday, as the Bidens are scheduled to have tea with the Queen on Sunday at Windsor Castle.
“Well, I think we’re going to concentrate on education,” she replied.
“Joe and I are both excited to see Her Majesty the Queen. For us, that is an exciting aspect of the visit. This has been something we’ve been looking forward to for weeks, and now it’s finally here. It’s a lovely beginning.”
The Big Jubilee Lunch will be part of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee festivities in 2022, and the monarch will attend an event celebrating The Big Lunch, an Eden Project initiative, on Friday with Kate and Camilla.
The royal party will meet with local Big Lunch volunteers to express their gratitude for their efforts in aiding their communities over the last year’s struggles.
