The woman reportedly posted a status on Facebook, according to which she had received several requests from guests who wanted to know if the football was being shown.
A bride-to-be was slammed online after she refused to show the guests’ requests for the England v Sweden game on Saturday at her wedding.
The bride said that under no circumstances would the quarter finals of the World Cup be shown on her big day.
“It is her wedding, and the day is all about this and that.
“Her status basically means that she is upset about the messages she has received and under no circumstances will the football be shown.
The Mumsnet user ‘arghhhhhhhhhh’ wrote in the ‘Am I unreasonable’ thread of the website: “I was just on Facebook and someone I know (although I’m not well and I’m not invited to the wedding! Obviously England is playing…
“She has asked that no one check their phones during the game, and she will even have a sign made when people enter the venue to remind them that it’s a football-free zone.
According to “arghhhhhhhhhh” the bride-to-be has received a number of comments, some even said that due to their attitude they would not attend if invited.
“She has been planning this wedding for over a year. I have only recently gotten married and know the stress etc. of the planning, but yes, it would make no difference to me. I would be so happy if it was shown!”
The Mumsnet user added: “I just don’t think it is fair to expect people not to look at it or even check their phone!
“When I say that, I understand the frustration of this lady.

Most users on Mumsnet quickly disagreed with the bride-to-be and called her “stupid” and “dumb” because she had booked a wedding during the World Cup.
“She may have been planning the wedding for over a year, but the World Cup has been planned for much longer.
“If the guests are enthusiastic football fans, they would rather watch the game than attend the wedding, so she really needs to be more flexible.
“Arrange a room with a large TV at the venue, and she and her new husband can turn off b***** for their three-hour photos while her guests watch the game.
But not everyone was impressed by the guests’ wishes.
