James Rodriguez was permanently contracted by Spanish giant Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.
Former England international Kieron Dyer praised Carlo Ancelotti’s influence on Everton’s transfer business.
James Rodriguez joined Everton from Real Madrid during the summer transfer window.
Rodriguez played a central role in their performances and the midfielder, who became an expert, believes that the manager’s pedigree and reputation were crucial in attracting a player of this caliber to the club.
Ancelotti’s newly formed team has made a flying start to the season and is currently at the top of the Premier League.
It was a busy window for Everton as Allan, Abdoulaye Doucoure, Niels Nkounkou, Ben Godfrey and goalkeeper Robin Olsen also arrived at Goodison Park.
“They say you’re only as good as your players, but the manager is worth his weight in gold. Ancelotti, who led the Everton team to the top of the league from last season, is to his credit.
“When they brought in Ancelotti as manager, you knew your Mourinhos, Klopps, were at the top,” he told Sky Sports.
“There is no way James is going to Everton without Ancelotti. That’s the family tree of the manager we’re dealing with now.
“Look at their recruitment. No disrespect to the former managers, but none of them could have signed James.
“Look at what he did with certain players – (Dominic) Calvert-Lewin – the turnaround is also due to Ancelotti”.
