Marina Wheeler, Boris’ ex-wife, claims that marriage to him had become “difficult.”
Marina Wheeler, Boris Johnson’s ex-wife, has claimed that she was the one who dissolved their 25-year marriage when it became “difficult.”
Ms Wheeler, 56, discussed the end of her romance with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau while discussing her cervical cancer diagnosis in 2019.
The former couple married in 1993 and announced their divorce in 2018. They had two sons and two daughters together.
“The heavenly design, it appeared, had gone awry,” Ms Wheeler told Good Housekeeping.
“My four children and I already had a lot on our plates. My 25-year marriage had grown untenable, so I divorced, but the whole ordeal was a nightmare.
“So, why was it that I was getting more? That isn’t how cancer works, of course. Life doesn’t work like that.”
Ms Wheeler said she could tell she was “fortunate” two years after her diagnosis and urged other women to go to their cervical screening visits.
“Because I was screened, the cancer was detected early — at stage 1 – and was pretty easy to treat,” she explained.
In the year 2020, Mr. Johnson and Ms. Wheeler divorced.
On May 29, this year, the Prime Minister married Carrie Symonds, his third wife, at Westminster Cathedral. Wilfred, their son, was born in April 2020.
