Kamil Lesiak is accused of an attack committed nearly five years ago in Simon’s Croft, Netherton.
A man accused of involvement in the gang rape and torture of another man is brought to justice.
Kamil Lesiak denies having wrongly imprisoned another man and having sexually and physically assaulted him.
He was brought before the Crown Court dock in Liverpool this morning when he was confronted with charges of rape, deprivation of liberty, assault and causing a man to commit penetrating sexual acts without his consent.
Lesiak, 24, of no fixed abode, formerly Maxton Road, Kensington, was arrested on September 24 this year.
A man and two women have already been arrested for the victim’s ordeal, which took place on November 28, 2015.
Judge Garrett Byrne set the trial for March 22 next year.
Lesiak spoke only to confirm his personal statements and plead not guilty on all four counts.
Martyn Walsh, the prosecutor, said his trial was expected to last four days.
