Joe Biden and Boris Johnson’s island excursion is canceled due to bad weather in Cornwall.
The weather in Cornwall has thwarted a visit to a coastal beauty spot by US Vice President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
The two presidents were scheduled to meet for talks ahead of the G7 summit at Saint Michael’s Mount, a castle on a tidal island off the coast of Cornwall.
Their wives, Carrie Johnson and First Lady Jill Biden, were also expected to visit the island while the leaders addressed problems such as Brexit, the coronavirus outbreak, and climate change, according to reports.
The visit to Saint Michael’s Mount has been canceled owing to bad weather, according to a No 10 source.
The journey would have been hit by a high possibility of rain about lunchtime with a moderate breeze, according to weather projections for Marazion, the town nearest to Saint Michael’s Mount.
Instead, the leaders will convene in Carbis Bay, where the summit will take place on Friday.
