On Monday, October 26, around 6:40 p.m., emergency services were called to Carlton Street in Prescot after reports of a dog attack.
A dog was found dead after a man and woman were attacked by their own pet in a garden last night.
The dog’s owners were injured in the attack and an investigation has been launched.
Their injuries are considered minor.
Responders said an investigation was launched to determine the circumstances of the incident, but officials said a man and woman were found injured on the property after their dog allegedly attacked them in a garden.
Once there, officials found a dead dog, but the breed has not been confirmed at this time.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: “We can confirm that rescue services were in Prescot last night, Monday 26 October, following a dog attack.
“Around 6.40pm, officers and the emergency services were called to Carlton Street to report that a man and woman had been injured by their dog in a garden.
“A dog was found dead on the property and both persons suffered minor injuries. An investigation has been initiated to determine any possible violation of the Dangerous Dogs Act”.
