Council urgently recruits coronavirus contact tracers.

The role involves contacting people who have been infected with the coronavirus and identifying places and activities where other people may have been exposed.

Sefton City Council is “urgently” discontinuing contact tracers while the city region continues its fight against Covid-19.

Both full-time and part-time jobs with flexible working hours are available.

There are both full- and part-time jobs, working from home and occasionally “within the district”.

You can earn up to £25,481 (pro rata) plus “weekend improvements”.

For those looking to change jobs or the opportunity to earn more money, the job offers flexible working days and full training.

In a tweet the Council said: “Urgent Covid 19 job alert!

“We are recruiting contact tracers to assist us in our response to the coronavirus pandemic. Apply immediately so that we can get you operational as soon as possible”.

The positions are limited for up to six months, but can be extended at a later date.

The job description states: “You have excellent communication skills, are unbiased, have competent IT skills and can demonstrate experience in dealing diplomatically with sensitive or controversial issues.

“Some weekend work may be required, but is not essential for all job holders. A duty roster will be established.”

Interviews are conducted via Microsoft Teams or Skype.

An improved DBS could be a future requirement for the role.
