By stopping under the M62 bridge, a hero lorry driver “saves a man’s life.”
A lorry driver has been praised as a hero after stopping beneath a highway bridge to prevent a man from plunging.
On Thursday, a disturbing image surfaced of a man who had gone over the M62 bridge’s railing and sat on the end, looking down towards the freeway.
According to Leeds Live, when a lorry driver saw him, he parked his vehicle on the hard shoulder and beneath where the man was sitting.
After that, the driver parked it until the man was securely transported off the bridge.
The photo has been shared hundreds of times on social media, with many people praising the lorry driver’s quick thinking.
“Well done to the lorry driver,” one guy said. I hope the person on the bridge receives the assistance they require.”
“Trucker is a nice human being who deserves the utmost respect,” said another.
“Fantastic lorry driver, he deserves a medal,” added a third. I hope he receives the help he requires.”
Vulnerable Citizen Support Leeds made the following announcement: “IT’S OKAY IF YOU DON’T WANT TO BE OKAY.
“This is a photo taken from the M62 Motorway Bridge by a passing motorist in order to raise awareness of the current situation.
“What most individuals don’t realize is that jumping off any bridge implies that something is seriously wrong with their mental health. But what comes next……?
“This post is to raise awareness that – IT’S OKAY – NOT TO BE OKAY – and you can or should speak out. I have family who have been in this situation before and had to wait a week for an appointment when she found herself on top of a bridge – this post is to raise awareness that – IT’S OKAY – NOT TO BE OKAY – and you can or should speak out.
“What a trucker, stopping on the hard shoulder and leaving his truck there to guarantee that when he did leap, he didn’t have to jump a greater distance.”
