After a guy was stabbed, five men on electric scooters were seen running along a Liverpool street.
After being knifed just before 11 p.m., the victim, a 49-year-old man, was brought to the hospital.
Merseyside Police said they were dispatched to Goodison Road, near Goodison Park, following reports of a man being stabbed in the leg.
According to authorities, the man’s injury is not life-threatening.
Five males on scooters were observed riding away from the stabbing towards Index Street, prompting a witness appeal.
The event has resulted in the arrest of a 20-year-old male, and the investigation is still underway.
Last night, two police officers were seen standing guard on the roadway.
“We have detained a guy in connection with a stabbing last night, Wednesday 9 June,” a Merseyside Police spokesperson said.
“At around 10.55 p.m., emergency services were dispatched to an address on Goodison Road in response to reports of a man being stabbed in the leg.”
“The victim, a 49-year-old Liverpool man, was brought to hospital for treatment of his non-life-threatening injury.”
“Five males on e-scooters were said to have fled the scene in the direction of Index Street following the incident,” the spokeswoman continued.
“Witness and forensic investigations are underway in the area. A man in his twenties from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of Section 47 assault following an investigation. Police have apprehended him and will take him into custody for questioning.”
