The Voice’s Season 19 teams are all fully booked, but viewers will not yet see them move on to the next round of the NBC competition.
The Voice will not be broadcast during normal Tuesday airtime. In fact, the Monday episode of the show is the only one scheduled for this week, so fans will have to wait for another dose of coach Blake Shelton, John Legend, Gwen Stefani and Kelly Clarkson-oh, and host Carson Daly.
There is, of course, a very good reason why you won’t get a chance to see Shelton trolling with his cast, or see Stefani in a sparkling outfit in The Voice on NBC on Tuesday. The station will devote its evening to coverage of the 2020 elections – also known as the 2020 Decision – and will begin coverage of the presidential race between President Donald Trump and his Democratic rival, former Vice President Joe Biden, starting at 7:00 p.m. ET.
Election coverage is expected to continue until 4 a.m. ET, although NBC has announced that it will continue to focus specifically on the election “as long as the race continues to unfold”.
All-Stars of the channel, including Savannah Guthrie, Lester Holt, Chuck Todd and Andrea Mitchell, will lead the coverage all night, with Kate Snow joining the pack at 2am ET.
Season 19 of The Voice will air again on NBC on November 9 at 8:00 p.m. (8:00 p.m. ET), with the week’s follow-up episode scheduled for November 10.
The blind auditions ended during the episode on Monday night, and the coaches eventually had 10 members on each team.
Shelton’s final choice for the evening is the first trio to make it into the show – the mother-daughter country group Worth the Wait. They join Aaron Scott, Ben Allen, Ian Flanigan, Jim Ranger, John Sullivan, Jus Jon, Payton Lamar, Sam Stacy and Taryn Papa.
Team Legend also scored its first country artist. Although Legend is not a country singer and has no real experience with the genre, the team has been working hard to work with a country artist since the beginning of the season. Eventually, he found one in Oklahoma born Bailey Rae, who fought her way into the Legend team on Monday. She joins Team Legend members Cami Clune, Casmé, James Pyle, John Holiday, Julia Cooper, Olivia Reyes, Rio Souma, Sid Kingsley and Tamara Jade.
Team Gwen and Team Kelly each have a genre mix in their teams. Stefani will coach Carter Rubin, Chloé Hogan, Lain Roy, Larriah Jackson, Lauren Frihauf, Liam St. John, Payge Turner, Ryan Berg, Tori Miller and Van Andrew. In the meantime, Clarkson Desz, Eli Zamora, Emmalee, Joseph Soul, Kelsie Watts, Madaline Conosoer, Marisa Covo, Ryan Gallagher, Skylar Alyvia Mayton and Tammer Gomes have been hired.
Now that the blinds are out of the way, The Voice’s remaining candidates are heading out to the Battle Rounds, where their coach will have them meet and sing against each other with a teammate. During this phase of the competition, trainers also have the opportunity to steal a contestant from another team and save the contestants from being eliminated.
