Joe Biden has taken the lead in Pennsylvania, surpassing President Trump in the most important state on the battlefield.

This latest state of affairs has greatly improved Biden’s chances of turning the state around and thus securing the presidency./

A victory for Biden in Pennsylvania would give him 20 more electoral college votes out of a total of 273, putting him above the line of the 270 votes needed to win the election.

In the meantime, Trump is relying on winning the state to maintain his chance of victory.

In Georgia, too, Biden was just ahead of Trump in the early morning hours of November 6.

So Twitter naturally reacted with some excellent memes and jokes.

“PENNSYLVANIA AND GEORGIA THIS MORNING,” says a tweet next to a still from an iconic scene from “Arrested Development” in which a blue-painted Tobias Fünke (David Cross) says: “I’m just ‘blue’ myself.

Another person showed a video of a girl having a hysterical breakdown and compared it to how Trump might react if he found out that Biden had outdone him in Georgia and Pennsylvania.

“Donald Trump wakes up to find that Biden has taken the lead in Georgia and Pennsylvania,” the caption reads.

An excellent sporting reference are the faces of Biden and Trump, roughly photographed on the soccer players while one of them approaches the other player and takes him out before scoring a touchdown.

“Pennsylvania in a nutshell,” says the Tweet.

The world of television has proven to be a fertile ground for many of these memes, with conspiracy theory joke Charlie Kelly (Charlie Day) being co-opted for the election process.

TV writer Kae Lani Palmisano used the popular comedy It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia to make a joke about the character Charlie on the magic wall of CNN.

“It’s always democratic in Philadelphia,” she joked.

A well-known Game of Thrones memo mistakenly sees Olenna Tyrell’s (the late Diana Rigg) dying wish for comedic effect.

“Tell Donald I want him to know it was Philadelphia,” the joke says.

Game of Thrones fans will remember this line on the show when the Lady of Thorns Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster Waldau) delivered the scathing revelation that she was responsible for the death of his son/nephew.

Over in the Simpsons’ world, one person creatively used the line “Stop it he’s already dead” to show how Trump was kicked from Pennsylvania while he was down in Pennsylvania.
